The Shire of Riven Wood Tower is the local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc. It is based in the Greater Mankato Region and welcomes people from all over the Midwest to two annual events. The group’s winter event, Lupercalia, features revelry, social activities, marshal arts, and outstanding food. The summer event, St. Radegund’s Arts and Science Faire, features the local talent and wonder of Jack McGowan’s Farm. Between these events, Shire Members meet regularly for Fighter Practice and Business Meetings. Often, local members travel to similar occasions across the regions or organize trips to other large events around the upper Midwest.
